One Bucket is a drought awareness campaign aiming to put faces to the drought and generate awareness in urban populations about what the drought is and what it currently means for so many rural Australians.
Through sharing these personal stories that will be confronting, hopeful, inspiring and heartwrenching, all at the same time, One Bucket aims to bring a morale boost to rural communities and raise much needed financial assistance that is currently unavailable.
There will be really simple ways shared with you, that you, as a fellow Aussie, can help but the first thing that is really important is to start generating followers on this page. If you have a spare second to simply invite just one friend to like the page, we can really get some traction to make a difference.
Let us help the people who do so much for us. Right now time is vital to make a difference and band together as Australians and look after our Bush Mates. We are looking forward to have you be a part of this journey and sharing all that the bush is, beautiful, tough and inspiring.
Support can be shown through sharing the stories on social media, writing a letter of support to a farmer, organising a fundraising event or donating directly to the onebucket.com.au. I have chosen two charities to support with this campaign, Rural Aid who focus on Mental Health and fodder through their Buy a Bale campaign and Drought Angels, two women who support farmers with food hampers, personalised visits and financial support through the distribution of prepaid visa cards to help with mounting bills on farms.
